Language Partners

To support classroom learning we have a unique Language Partner program – structured conversational sessions with French teens and university students.

Cultural activities

Experience French culture first-hand through a range of fun daily and weekend activities and excursions – including a visit to a candy-making factory, kayaking and a theater workshop. Enjoy trips to Cannes, St. Tropez, Eze, Antibes and Monaco.

Immersion Week

Unique Individual Immersion on the Riviera

No other program offers you this amazing opportunity. Your spoken French will improve enormously.

This component is what sets ECI apart from other Summer Study Abroad organizations. You will live with a volunteer French family in Hyères, the oldest resort town on the Riviera. No classes, no group activities, no English. Simply one week of French culture, French  family life and French language.

This is true language immersion.

Student Testimonials

ECI Student Anastasia FloresI highly recommend the ECI program. It’s a real taste of French living away from tourism. The teachers were fantastic. Very understanding, very patient, and very knowledgeable. Our chaperones were very friendly, professional, and great to be around. They were eager to teach and help you get the most of your experience. I couldn’t have asked for better trip leaders.

ECI Student Laney MerisMy immersion family was great and very welcoming. They taught me a lot about their culture, customs and daily life. I learned things there that I couldn’t learn in the classroom. France was so pretty and the atmosphere was wonderful.
Laney Meris

ECI Student Mallory LoveMy Immersion host family always asked me questions and were interested in what I had to say. I was truly living the culture, which gave me more confidence in speaking French. I made friends that will last me a lifetime. The language class helped me get to know the other students and I loved my teachers.
