Last weekend in Madrid and arrival in Nerja

Meeting our language partners

We’ve arrived safely in Southern Spain! Today, the students started their classes at the language school, and everyone was happy with the way the first class went.

After class, we met our native Spanish-speaking language partners. We have four language partners this year, so the students are split up into small groups. The language partners are all from Nerja, and they gave us a great orientation tour of their town. Everyone was all smiles after the tour.

Visiting Madrid’s soccer stadium

Our last weekend in Madrid was also eventful– we said our goodbyes and thanks to the city for such a wonderful time! On Saturday, we took a guided tour of the Spanish Royal Palace, the Palacio Real, with its 2,800 rooms! After the palace, we headed over to the Real Madrid soccer stadium, Santiago Bernabéu. We did a self-guided tour and got to see all of the team’s trophies, take pictures on the field, and visit the locker room.

We’re ready for our first week of classes and looking forward to a salsa dance class tomorrow night!
