Today the students went to ‘la finca’ for horseback riding. They all enjoyed the various personalities of their horses and the overall ride, including the taxi ride! One of the taxis became a mini karaoke session on the return trip.

After dinner our group created a student led tour of Salamanca for another group of high school students that arrived today from Sacramento. This group is led by a UC Davis PhD graduate that I know from living in Davis. So, we decided it would be fun to have a student led tour of Salamanca and our ECI group was thrilled to take part.

Our group helped the Sacramento students orient themselves on the streets surrounding the main plaza. They also showed them their favorite smoothie stop, ice cream stand, and the famous Calixto and Meribel garden.

It was incredible to see how comfortable our students felt in Salamanca after just a week’s time! Enough so to give this student-centered tour.
