Au Revoir, Nice!

On Friday, the group got all dressed up for one more night on the town. They looked incredible!

Goodbye picnic in Nice

On Friday, we started the celebrations of our stay in Nice with a picnic in the park, featuring local Niçois specialties such as pissaladière, a kind of onion tart, and pitchouns, or, local Niçoise olives. We also had a variety of cheeses, saucisson sec, rillettes, as well as anchovy paste for the brave!

Exciting activities planned with host families

On Saturday, we hopped on a bus to Hyères to meet our host families! After a picnic lunch by the beach, everyone went their separate ways, already looking like fast friends with their new French brothers and sisters. Among the activities planned with the families include whale watching, amusement parks, snorkeling, and sight-seeing. It’s going to be an amazing week!

Compliments from the French

Looking back, I can’t believe how fast these two weeks have gone! The group has been amazing, and has gotten compliments from all the staff here at Azurlingua. The director in particular was a big fan of our group, saying that we represent a “belle image” of Americans. That is a huge compliment, and it is well deserved!

Check back next week for photos from the host families, as well as updates on our adventures in Paris!
