Our Last Days in Salamanca

Sarah Behm - Salamanca chaperone

Farewell gifts and visits to old town

Thursday was full of art classes, tapas tasting, and visiting Salamanca’s famous cave!

Making clay sculptures

Our art class yesterday consisted of making several clay figurines that we fired in an oven last night. We mostly made gifts for teachers, the resident cook, Iannis, and each other. This is a very considerate group!

Tapas and a cave visit

After class, we tried some tapas at one of the local tapas joints by the school. (Most of the students are hooked on the Spanish tortilla!) After feasting on a variety of these Spanish dishes, we went for a stroll through Salamanca’s historic center, to “La Cueva de Salamanca”, the city’s mysterious cave.

Tomorrow, we’re having our official Goodbye Salamanca departure meeting, and then it’s off to our host families on Sunday!
