Daytrip to Antibes and the Picasso Museum

Exploring a Medieval Town

Yesterday, we hopped on the train to Antibes, a beautiful gem of a city which boasts a bustling port, the Picasso Museum, and well-preserved, medieval ramparts.

Gelato and art

We wandered the winding streets of Vieille Ville, Antibes’ old quarter, taking a quick stop for gelato à la rose, served up in the form of a delicate flower. Our sweet tooth satisfied, we then headed over to the Picasso Museum, housed in an old castle, and home to many interesting oil paintings by this famous artist, as well as ceramics and sketches. We ended the day by walking along the city’s ramparts, which date from the 14th century, and found a secluded, sandy beach with beautiful blue waters. It was a marvelous day!

Saying goodbye to Nice

Today is our last day in Nice – we are looking forward to meeting our host families this weekend, but will miss this wonderful city!
