Today we had a morning of shopping in Granada followed by a spectacular visit of the Alhambra.

We spent over two hours touring the gardens of this ancient palace and learning about the fascinating history woven into various walls and water ways.

Once we finished we sped off to the bus station to arrive at our final destination in Nerja! Here we have already refreshed in the waves of our hotel beach!

Granada July 22nd

Today we arrived in the magical city of Granada after train ride dedicated to making friendship bracelets.

After some time at the hotel pool, we met for a walk through the town on our way to a delicious dinner in Albayzen. After dinner, Maya (our local leader), took us to Plaza San Nicolás for a stunning view of the Alhambra.

After taking some photos we continued on to a Flamenco show in one of the original caves of Granada. We were up close and personal with the incredible performers.

Tomorrow we have a morning visit at the Alhambra!

Seville July 21st

Today we said our goodbye’s to our host families and headed off to Sevilla! We braced ourselves for the heat, but were relieved that it wasn’t as hot as our northern Spain families warned. Plus we have a pool on the roof of our hotel, so no complaints here!

After a relaxing afternoon we met up for a walk to the Plaza España on our way to a delicious Paella dinner tucked away in the windy caminos of the center!

Salamanca Day 13

Our last day in Salamanca:

Today we had  relaxing Sunday morning slowly waking up to the subtle sounds of clanking espresso cups and violins playing on the Main Street below.

After our last lunch in the residence, we headed off to the local pool. We finally had a day warm enough to swim and sunbathe!

After the pool we got all dressed up for a goodbye Iannis/Salamanca supper at a Greek restaurant just off the plaza. Iannis, our Spanish-Greek local leader has been the best that a group could ask for. We are definitely going to miss having Iannis around. This delicious restaurant was the perfect way to close this section of our trip. Many of us put in a second order because the Gyros were phenomenal.

After some closing words, the students snapped some last photos in the plaza and finished off their packing.

Tomorrow we have an early train ride to San Sebastián and to meet the host families!
